MOV to MP4 Converter
Convert MOV to MP4 right in your browser. iPhone and QuickTime MOV files with H.264 video are copied into MP4 without re-encoding, so most take seconds and lose nothing; HEVC videos from newer iPhones become H.264, so they also play on Windows and Android.

What works in your browser
Everything runs on your device, so what you can create depends on the browser. The last column is checked live in the browser you are using now and always wins over the table.

Instant copies work in every browser. Without WebCodecs (older browsers) re-encoding is not available, but MP3 and WAV files can still be made.
How to convert MOV to MP4
- Choose your MOV files, or drop them on the page. You can add several at once, for example a whole folder of iPhone clips.
- MP4 is already selected. Each file shows "Instant copy" or "Re-encode to H.264" with an estimated time before anything starts.
- Press Convert. Copies finish in seconds; HEVC clips take roughly as long as the video on a phone and less on a computer.
- Download each MP4, or use Download all to get one ZIP file. On iPhone, Share → Save Video puts the result back into Photos.
MOV to MP4, done properly
Keeps rotation and timing
Portrait iPhone videos stay portrait, variable frame rates from phones are preserved, and the sound stays in sync because the original timestamps are reused.
Handles camera MOV files
MOVs with uncompressed PCM sound from cameras and screen recorders work too: the video is kept and the sound becomes AAC, which MP4 players expect.
Whole folders at once
Drop dozens of clips together. They are converted one after another, so your phone stays responsive, and the results can be saved as a single ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
Is the MOV to MP4 converter free, and is my video uploaded?
Yes, it is free, without sign-up or watermark – and no, the MOV is read by your own browser and the MP4 is created on your device. Nothing is sent to ZEBRA or anyone else, so private videos stay private.
Will converting MOV to MP4 lose quality?
Not for H.264 MOV files, which are copied without re-encoding. HEVC clips are re-encoded to H.264 with "Same quality", which keeps the picture visually unchanged; choose Video codec → Copy if you want to keep HEVC exactly as it is.
Why are my iPhone videos HEVC?
Since iOS 11 the Camera app records in "High Efficiency" (HEVC) by default, because the files are about half the size. Many Windows PCs, older TVs and some editors cannot play HEVC, which is why MP4 here means H.264: the format that plays everywhere.
How long does MOV to MP4 take?
An H.264 MOV is copied at disk speed, so even a 2 GB file is usually done in under a minute. Re-encoding HEVC runs at about twice real time on a recent laptop and roughly real time on a phone, and the estimate is shown before you start.
Which browsers can convert MOV to MP4?
Instant copies work in every modern browser. Re-encoding HEVC needs a browser that can decode it – Safari on Mac and iPhone, or Chrome and Edge on computers with HEVC support – plus an H.264 encoder, which Chrome, Edge and Safari provide.
What happens to quality
A MOV and an MP4 file are close relatives: both are built on the same ISO media file format, and both usually carry H.264 video and AAC sound. In that case Zebra Convert moves the existing video and sound into an MP4 container sample by sample. Nothing is decoded or compressed again, so picture and sound are identical and only a few kilobytes of file structure change.
Re-encoding happens only when MP4 needs it. Videos from iPhone 8 and later are often HEVC (H.265); with "Same quality" they are converted to H.264 at a bitrate derived from the original, which looks the same to the eye but is not a bit-exact copy. Camera MOVs with uncompressed PCM sound keep their video and get AAC sound. To keep HEVC as it is, set Video codec to Copy.
