From vector to pixels

An SVG is a set of drawing instructions, so it can be rendered at any size without getting blurry. A PNG is a fixed grid of pixels. That is why the size you choose matters: render at the largest size you will display, such as 2× the layout size for Retina and high-DPI screens, instead of enlarging a small PNG later.

The converter reads the width, height and viewBox of the SVG to find its natural size and proportions. Files without a size get one from their viewBox; when neither exists, the browser default of 300 × 150 pixels is used, and you can type the width you want.

SVG files are drawn the way a browser shows an SVG image: scripts and animations do not run, and external pictures or web fonts that the file links to are not loaded. Text then uses a similar installed font. For exact typography, convert the text to outlines in your design tool before exporting the SVG.

How to use the SVG to PNG Converter

  1. Choose SVG files or drop them onto the page. Icons, logos and illustrations exported from Figma, Illustrator or Inkscape work well.
  2. Pick the output size: original, 2×, 3× or 4×, or type an exact width in pixels; the height follows the drawing's proportions.
  3. PNG keeps the transparent background. Switch to JPG if you need a solid background color instead.
  4. Download each PNG or all of them as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

How large can the PNG be?

Up to 16,384 pixels on a side on computers. Phones limit a canvas to about 16 megapixels, so very large sizes are reduced to fit and the row shows the size actually used.

Why does the text in my PNG use a different font?

An SVG drawn as an image cannot load web fonts or font files it refers to, so the browser uses an installed font instead. Convert text to outlines (paths) before exporting the SVG to keep the exact look.

Can I convert SVG to JPG instead?

Yes. Choose JPG as the format and pick a background color, because JPG cannot be transparent. The size options work the same way.

Is it safe to open SVG files from the internet here?

Yes. SVG files are rendered as plain images, so any scripts inside them never run, and nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere.

Does it work for many icons at once?

Yes. Drop a whole icon set; every SVG is rendered at the chosen size and Download all saves them in one ZIP.
